Additional Notes
|
|
Accessing the Internet from UCSB is very different than accessing the
Internet from your home or office connection; Universities are high-profile targets
for viruses, worms, and Trojan horses. UCSB has zero-tolerance policy for computers
exhibiting signs of a compromise, and terminates any connection that has shown
infected characteristics.
There is no firewall between campus and the Internet, and all guests of the Summer
Inn Santa Barbara are responsible for their own PC's security and maintenance.
UCSB also has several security measures in place, including blocking SMTP (e-mail)
connections to all off-site mail servers, and blocking all Windows networking
ports between subnets.
If you have any questions regarding connecting to the internet during your stay
at the Summer Inn Santa Barbara, feel free to call us at 805.893.2649. |
