By Air into LAX:  Most air travelers will initially land at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), about 100 miles from Santa Barbara. From there, you have the option to travel on to Santa Barbara either by air, the Santa Barbara Airbus or rental car.

Santa Barbara Airbus (shuttle service from LAX to Santa Barbara):  This service provides several daily trips from Los Angeles International Airport to Santa Barbara. Reservations are strongly recommended: (800)423-1618 (toll-free US/Canada), (805)964-7759 (outside US/Canada) or www.sbairbus.com. There are discounts for advance reservations and for parties of two or more. You will get off at the Goleta stop and will need to call a taxi or SuperRide shuttle from there.

By Air into Santa Barbara: You must arrange your own transportation to campus from the Santa Barbara Airport, Amtrak terminals and Airbus stops. The campus is a ten-minute drive from the airport. Door-to-Door Airport shuttle service is available from the Santa Barbara Airport to UCSB from the hours of 4 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. Prearrange this by calling 1-800-247-7919.

By Train

Santa Barbara is served by Amtrak Train Service - www.amtrak.com. Amtrak terminals are located in Santa Barbara (12–15 miles from campus) and Goleta (5 miles from campus). You must then take a taxi or SuperRide Shuttle from the train station.

Santa Barbara has an excellent public transportation service. If you are arriving sometime during the day this is an inexpensive option. The Line 11 runs directly from the Santa Barbara Airport to UCSB campus. Please call  (805) 683-3702 or go to: www.sbmtd.gov for further information.

By Car

UCSB is easily accessible from highway US-101.

• From the South: Take US-101 to the Airport/UCSB/Hwy. 217 exit (approximately 8 miles north of downtown Santa Barbara). This expressway will take you directly into campus; bear to the right when entering campus, and follow directional signs to the "Summer Inn."
• From the North: Take US-101 to the Storke/Glen Annie Rd. exit. Turn right on Storke Road and proceed 2 miles to El Colegio Road. Turn left on El Colegio Road and proceed through the campus West Gate. Turn right at the second traffic light (Ocean Rd.) after entering campus and follow signs towards the "Summer Inn," at the end of Ocean Rd.
