Q. What exactly is the Summer Inn?
A. The Summer Inn is a reasonably priced place to stay when
you are visiting UCSB for campus related activities.
Q. What does the Summer Inn Santa Barbara have to do with UCSB?
A. The Summer Inn Santa Barbara is located on the UCSB campus
and is operated by the Alumni Affairs Department at UCSB. We make use of many
UCSB facilities: the Manzanita Village residence halls, dining commons, the recreation
center, pools, bike paths, and more.
Q. Do I have to be a an alumni of UCSB
to stay at the Summer Inn?
A. No. UCSB Alumni receive a discount
but we are open to non-graduates as well. All guests must have a campus-related
reason for staying.
Q. Will I have to share a bathroom?
A. There is approximately one bathroom per two guest rooms. Bathrooms are single use and come equipped with a sink, toilet and shower.
Q. Do I need to bring my own bedding?
A. No, we have you covered! Each room has been provided with linens, bedding and pillow. Towels are also provided along with an alarm clock.
Q. What will I need to bring to be comfortable at the Summer Inn Santa Barbara?
A. Depending on what you may be doing on campus, we recommend that you bring a towel for the pool and/or beach, proper walking shoes to check out some of the beautiful walking paths on campus and perhaps a jacket for the evenings.
Q. What's the weather like?
A. Temperatures during the summer average from a low of 60 to a high of 75 daily. It's often foggy in the morning, with clearing around 10am. Evenings can be cool, so you should bring something warm to wear. Overall it's perfect weather to be active, and a great relief if you're coming from a hot, humid environment.
